WHOLE SUM APPROACH

the

We use a trauma-informed, gender-affirming, anti-oppressive, and collaborative approach. We stay up to date with research, continue our professional development, and invest time in rapport building with clients to perform ethically and effectively. We offer clients the space to be heard and validated as they process and heal. Compassion is the cornerstone of our therapeutic work and we are intentional in the use of different modalities and interventions we offer in session.

EMILY DAVISON

(she/her/hers)

Hi, I’m Emily and I’m a Registered Social Worker and the Founder of Whole Sum Wellness. I’m glad you’re here! It’s hard to ask for help and find a therapist who’s the right fit. Maybe you’re feeling curious, anxious, or overwhelmed – that’s normal. Therapy doesn’t have to be sad and scary; it can be an enlightening and rewarding experience. This is a chance to learn more about yourself, process your experiences, and develop skills to cope with the unhelpful thoughts and feelings that have gotten in your way. Please explore the website. There are a lot of resources and information about booking with Whole Sum Wellness on each page.

I look foward to connecting with you.

INCLUSIVITY STATEMENT

We believe people live healthier and more fulfilling lives when they are treated with respect and have access to meaningful support. We recognize the importance of creating a brave, inclusive, and supportive environment for clients, visitors, and practitioners. We acknowledge social and structural inequities and injustices that continue to disproportionately affect BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, neurodiverse, and (dis)abled communities.

We’re committed to fostering a space where you, your identity, your experiences, and your wellness journey are treated with compassion, respect, and empathy. We will practice cultural humility and expand our awareness related to diversity, equity, and inclusion through professional training, consultation, and direct community involvement. In our practice, we will advocate for equity and social justice. If you have any feedback regarding these commitments, please contact us.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We acknowledge we live and work on the traditional and unceded territory of the Algonquin-Anishinaabeg Peoples. As settlers and mental health practitioners, we recognize the ongoing realities of colonization and how mental health is often conceptualized in a Western framework. We are committed to learning how to collaborate with Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities as a way to move towards (re)conciliation, decolonization, and healing. You can find out more about Indigenous territories, languages, and treaties on https://native-land.ca/.
